Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) afholder 2 kvalifikationsbedømmelser årligt, den næste er i juni 2012 –  panel indsendelsensfristen er den 8. juni 2012, hvor billederne skal være modtaget i Bruxelles.

MASTER QEP

ANSØGNINGER

Kandidaten skal:

  • Være medlem af en organisation for professionelle fotografer, der er medlem af FEP.
  • Acceptere FEPs Etiske regler for god opførsel.
  • Indsend et panel bestående af 12 billeder for QEP
  • Indsend et panel bestående af 20 billeder for Master QEP.  MASTER QEP er en højere kvalificering, forbeholdt QEP indehavere.
  • Logge ind på FEP hjemmeside, www.europeanphotographers.eu og downloade et QEP eller Master QEP ansøgningsskema.
  • Udfylde hele ansøgningsskemaet i MS Word, (ingen håndskrevne dokumenter), udskrive det og vedlægge det de indsendte billeder.
  • Sende ansøgningsskemaet via e-mail til FEP på secretariat@europeanphotographers.eu inden for den frist der angives på FEPs hjemmeside.
  • Via Bankoverførsel betale ansøgningsgebyret på Euro 150,00 for QE eller Euro 250,00 for MASTER QEP ansøgninger til FEP.
  • Oplysninger om FEPs konto findes på ansøgningsskemaet.
  • Ansøgninger behandles og bedømmes alene når FEP modtager dokumentation for at ansøgningsgebyret er betalt.
  • Kopi af ansøgningsskemaet skal også sendes til ansøgerens FEP medlemsorganisation – dff/Dansk Fotografisk Forening – dff@dff-photo.dk

Ansøgningsbetingelser:

  • Paneler skal modtages på den angivne adresse senest dagen før bedømmelsen, dvs. senest den 8. juni 2012
  • QEP ansøgninger kan indgives indenfor det/de specialer kandidaten, som f.eks Portræt, Bryllup, Reklame, Landskab, Reportage, Industrial, osv.
  • Panelet printes i farve, sort/hvid eller en blanding.
  • Billederne skal monteres på let pap eller tilsvarende.
  • Billederne skal monteres enkeltvis.
  • Den korteste side af monteringen må ikke være mindre end 40 cm og den længste ikke længre end 50 cm.
  • Billederne må ikke indrammes. Samlet vægt max. 2,5 kg.
  • Alle ansøgninger skal vedlægges en CD/DVD med billederne i digital form med en opløsning på 300 DPI og 20 cm på længste led.
  • Hvert enkelt billede skal numereres på bagsiden.
  • En visuel guide til panelets opsætning vedlægges og numeres tilsvarende de enkelte billeder.
  • Alle prints skal, for nem håndtering og returforsendelse, indsendes i en genbrugelig indpakning, der ikke overstiger en maksimale størrelse på 55×60 cm.
  • Paneler pakket i større emballage returneres ikke.

Generelle noter for såvel QEP og MASTER QEP

  • Alle kandidater vil modtage en skriftlig meddelelse om resultatet af deres ansøgning-Godkendte ansøgere vil modtage et certifikat fra FEP.
  • Kun navne på succesfulde ansøgere offentliggøres.
  • Alle ansøgeres anonymitet vil blive respekteret på alle tidspunkter, herunder under bedømmelsen.
  • Ansøgninger vil kun blive bedømt og returneret til ansøgeren, hvis:
    • Nærværende “Regler for QEP of Master QEP ansøgninger” overholdes.
    • Medlemskab af en FEP Organization bekræftiges.
    • Ansøgningsgebyret er betalt
  • Et minimum af 40 QEP ansøgninger (eller 30 QEP plus 5 Master QEP ansøgninger) er nødvendige for en bedømmelse session kan afholdes. Hvis disse tal ikke er nået, bedømmes de modtagne ansøgninger på den næste bedømmelsessession
  • FEP  returnering af print service
    Til dækning af omkostningerne ved tilbagesendelse af dine værker til adressen angivet på ansøgningsskemaet skal du vedlægge dokumentation for en yderligere bankoverførsel på  et beløb af Euro 60,00.
  • Vi anbefaler du læser alle reglerne grundigt og foreslår du kontakter dff/Dansk Fotografisk Forening før du indsender din ansøgning.

 

Copyright

Ophavsretten til alle indsendte billeder forbliver hos indehaveren af ophavsretten. FEP forbeholder sig dog ret til, uden betaling, at anvende de indsendte billeder til fremvisning, herunder offentligt, i forbindelse med denne og fremtidige FEP Awards eller projekter. Det er essentielt at ansøgeren opnår de nødvendige tilladelser til dette fra modeller, klienter med mere inden en ansøgning indsendes.

Bedømmelsen

Juryen vælges blandt de QEPer og Master QEPer, som årligt nomeneres af de nationale organizationer og herefter udvælges af juryens formand. Kandidater skal, for at bestå,  opnå flertal i henhold til reglerne om dette. Et panel kan ikke blive bedømt af dommer(e) fra ansøgers eget land.

QEP eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a QEP Certificate, the candidate:

a) must earn a living as a maker of still images. The QEP Certificate is only available to those who are authors of the original images and it is not intended for photographic laboratory technicians or support staff.

b) must be a member of a national professional photographers association. The national association must be a member of the FEP
c) may be self-employed or an employee.

d) must have operated as a professional photographer for at least three consecutive years.

e) must fulfill the necessary requirements in technical skills and meet an internationally acknowledged artistic and aesthetic standard necessary to uphold a high professional status.

f) must satisfy the requirements for professional practice skill, which will be assessed by the FEP member national association.

g) must accept the FEP European Code of Professional Conduct.

 

Submission of work

a) Each candidate must submit a panel of 12 images.

b) Each submission must be accompanied by a QEP APPLICATION FORM, downloadable from the FEP web site . This editable form can be filled in, using MS Word, printed and added to the submitted pictures.

HANDWRITTEN DOCUMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

The application form  must be sent via e-mail to secretariat@europeanphotographers.eu  within the date you can find on the FEP website. (FOR THIS SESSION, DEADLINE TO SEND THE APPLICATION FORM IS APRIL, 30th) It is also mandatory to send a copy of this application form to the national headquarters of your relevant FEP member association.

Panels must arrive at the FEP Headquarters in Brussels the day before the judging session at the latest. (FOR THIS SESSION, PANELS MUST ARRIVE WITHIN JUNE, 8th AT THE LATEST)

No names or other identification marks may appear on the front of any of the submitted work.

c) Panels may be submitted in the category of the candidate’s specialist field of activity, such as Portrait, Wedding, Advertising, Landscape, Architectural, Industrial, Commercial, Editorial, Still Life, Press, Reportage, Scientific, etc.

d) The submission must be prints, colour or monochrome or a mixture.
e) Prints must be mounted on light cardboard or <10 mm foamboard, polyboard, kapaboard or the equivalent. Each mount must contain a single image. The short side of the mounting board being not less than 40 cm and the longest side must not exceed 50 cm. Any small deviations from the specified size will only be judged at the Chairman’s discretion.
f) No frames are permitted. Total weight max. 2.5 kg.

g) All panels MUST come with a CD/DVD containing a digital version of all 12 images, high resolution, 300 dpi, 20 cm the longest side, for possible printing purposes and a contact sheet with proofs of the same pictures in the order they have to be exhibited during the judging session. Every print must be clearly numbered on the back to correspond with the visual guide; a directional arrow is also required.
It is strongly recommended to add to the CD/DVD a second low resolution version (1024 px the longest side) of the 12 images for web and presentation purposes.

 

Conditions of entry

All photographic prints must be submitted in a reusable case, not exceeding the maximum sizes of 55×60 cm, for easy handling and return shipping. Cases received exceeding these sizes will not be returned. FEP cannot be held responsible for loss or damage during transit.

 

Copyright

The copyright of all images submitted remains with the copyright holder. However the FEP reserves the right to use any of the images submitted, without payment, for display and publicity purposes for this and future FEP awards or projects. It is vital that the candidate obtains the permission of the client and/or the copyright holder and any relevant model release forms, where appropriate before submitting the work.

 

Judging

The QEP jury will be drawn from delegates nominated annually by the national organisations and then selected by the chairman. The candidate must achieve a majority of the Jury votes to be deemed successful.

 

Costs

A submission fee of EUR 150,00 is due to cover the costs, such as venue charges, certification, jury expense, etc.

Candidate has to send the bank transfer directly to the FEP.

The FEP Bank Data are on the entry form. The FEP secretariat will keep tracks of the membership of the candidate and of the payment of the entry fee. The registration will be considered only when FEP will receive evidence of the payment of the entry fee made by the candidate.

At all cases, the payment must be made before the judging.


This is a higher qualification award reserved for QEP holders who have shown exceptional competence in their work.  QEP Master candidates must present a panel of 20 prints in any size. They may if they wish show supporting evidence e.g. (CDs, DVDs, books, publications). QEP Masters and QEPs will receive an official certificate from FEP.

QEP photographers may receive a letter of invitation to apply for a Master QEP session from the Chairman of the QEP Jury.

 

MASTER QEP RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

MASTER QEP eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a QEP Master the candidate:
a) must hold a QEP Certificate.

b) must present a body of work which represents exceptional personal style and originality. The panel should demonstrate excellence in either your professional field or personal work. There are no categories or specializations for Masters.

c) In principle, within reason, no limitation in size or volume will be grounds to exclude a submission. M-QEP candidates may present, together with the images, some supporting evidence (CDs, videos, books, publications…).

 

MASTER QEP Submission of work

a) Each candidate must submit a panel of 20 images.

b) Each submission must be accompanied by a QEP APPLICATION FORM, downloadable from the FEP web site . This editable form can be filled in, using MS Word, printed and added to the submitted pictures.

A minimum of 5 MASTER QEP applications are required for a judging session to proceed.

The candidate must achieve a majority of 5 VOTES ON 7 to be deemed successful

An application fee of EUR 250,00  is due to cover the costs, such as venue charges, certification, jury expense, etc.

Candidate has to send the bank transfer directly to the FEP.

The FEP Bank Data are on the entry form. The FEP secretariat will keep tracks of the membership of the candidate and of the payment of the entry fee. The registration will be considered only when FEP will receive evidence of the payment of the entry fee made by the candidate.

 

General notes for both QEP and MASTER QEP

The relevant National Association will assist with organising and checking that everything is in order for their own candidates before all submissions are judged. All candidates will receive written notification of the result of their submission from the QEP Jury. Successful candidates will receive a certificate from the FEP.  A list of all successful candidates ONLY will be announced. The anonymity of all candidates will be respected at all times including during judging sessions.

The FEP Secretariat will not put forward for judging any panels unless the following procedures have been adhered to, neither will these panels be returned to their authors, if:
- the images submitted do not conform to these rules
- the membership of the candidates has not been confirmed by the relevant association.

- the submission fee has not been paid

A minimum of 5 MASTER QEP applications are required for a judging session to proceed.

FEP return of prints service
To cover the costs of return transportation of your works to the address indicated on the application form you must enclose proof of an additional bank transfer for the amount of Euro 60,00.
